Information for Participants
Purpose of the Study
We are going to use a simple urine test (ACR) to find out how common kidney problems (chronic kidney disease) are in Curaçao. This helps us detect them earlier and plan better care.
Benefits
Early detection helps your doctor guide you sooner and prevent complications. You’ll also be contributing to better kidney care for all of Curaçao.
What Participation Means
If you take part, you’ll submit a urine sample at one of the participating labs. With your permission, we may also collect important public health data and provide policy recommendations.
Voluntary Participation
Taking part is completely voluntary. You can stop at any time without giving a reason. This will not affect your medical care.
Results
If your results are abnormal, your doctor will be informed by us. Your doctor will then contact you. You don’t need to take any action yourself.
Your Data
Your information will remain confidential. Only your doctor and the researchers will have access to it. For research purposes, we use only anonymous data.
Your Rights
You can withdraw at any time and request deletion of your data, as long as it has not yet been anonymized for research.
